Eastern Gray Timber Wolf
A wider angle view of the Eastern Gray Timber Wolf I came face to face with on the Track and Tower Trail in Algonquin Park. Although I like my other image of the wolf set against a stark snow white background, I think I prefer this image that captures some of the surrounding forest.
First time out with my Camera after my knee surgeries and I decided to stop at the Track and Tower Trail in Algonquin Park. To my shock, just a few metres up the trail I came face to face with this beautiful lone Eastern Gray Timber Wolf. Had the fortune of getting to spend about 10 minutes with this stunning animal before she wandered off into the forest.
Red Lynx (Bobcat)
Captured this image of a beautiful Red Lynx (also known as a Bobcat) looking right at me, during a visit to a local wildlife rescue. I was very fortunate to be able to enter the enclosure to capture this image; however, during my visit this fellow decided to get personal and jumped up on my chest to perch across my head and shoulders.
White Rhinoceros
Captured this side profile image of a White Rhino at African Lion Safari. I like the Rhino, but was not too happy with the background, so I descided to try my hand at making it a composite with some smokey grey clouds.
Sleeping Galapagos Fur Seal
Captured this close-up image of a sleeping Galapagos Fur Seal soaking up some sunshine on the beach in Punta Suarez, Espanola Island, Galapagos. If you look closely you can see a fly on his nose.
Little Red Squirrel
Captured this close-up image of a little American Red Squirrel eating some seeds. Image taken against a snow background near the entrance of the Spruce Bog Boardwalk Trail in Algonquin Park (Ontario, Canada).
Galapagos Marine Iguana
Pictured here is one of the hundreds of Galapagos Marine Iguanas I saw located along the coastline of Playa Baquerizo on San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos. These wild Marine Iguanas are so ignorant of people that you can easily get with feet of them.
Eyes of the Silver Fox
The piercing golden yellow glare of a beautiful Silver Fox laying on the forest floor. Silver foxes have a great deal of pelt variation. This male carries the more traditional bluish-grey fur with the white tipped tail.
Young Male Eastern Moose
Photographed this young male Eastern Moose that was roadside having a drink from a small pool of water. After a morning of not seeing much, we spotted him and two other females, on our way out of Algonquin Park (Canada).
Raccoon on the Docks
Captured this inquisitive and playful raccoon poking out from underneather a floating dock up in the Algonquin Highlands (Canada). Raccoons love water and this little guy was no exception to that, as he played in the dock for hours, often looking out to see where I was.
American Marten
After having tried several times, I was finally able to photograph this elusive American Marten (also called the Pine Marten) in a forested area near Mew Lake of Algonquin Park. Would have been nice to get a higher quality image, but the circumstances were challenging and I only had a split second before he was gone.
Captured this little American Red Squirrel searching for seeds in the snow near Mew Lake in Algonquin Park (Ontario, Canada).
Humpback Whale - Before the Dive
Captured this rear angle view of the dorsal fin and caudal of this beautiful Humpback Whale just about to dive in Skjálfandi Bay (Arctic Ocean), off the North Coast of Iceland.
Red Fox
Captured this beautiful Red Fox lying down in a forested area in Durham Region, Ontario. His gaze was fixed on a small red squirrel at the base of a nearby tree.
North American Porcupine
Captured this North American Porcupine showing off his sharp quills while sitting up and eating a little afternoon snack in the shade of his forested home. I was really surprised at how sloth-like slow moving this animal.
The Silver Fox
Commonly referred to as the Silver Fox, this historically most valued furbearer, is actually a Red Fox with dark-colored pigment melanin in its skin.
Alaskan Harbour Seal
A common Harbour Seal swimming around the coastline of Seward Alaksa's Resurrection Bay.
Moose in the Wetland
Photographed this yearling moose near the roadside of some marshy wetlands, on an early spring morning in Algonquin Park, Canada. Moose with their salt deficient winter diets, come to the roadside to lick up the leftover winter road salt. This Moose just finished having a drink of the salty roadside water.
The Great White Bear
The Polar Bear is a powerful symbol of strength and endurance, and one of my most favorite animals. However, these beautiful creatures are being significantly threatened by warming arctic temperatures and melting sea ice. We in Canada, are fortunate we can still photography these amazing bears in the wild.
Sally Lightfoot Crab - Side Profile
Laying on my stomach on the sharp Lava Rocks of Genovesa Island, Galapagos, I captured this side profile image of a fearless Sally Lightfoot Crab.
The Dragonfly
Captured this Dragonfly, with his outstretched wings, perched on a small branch of a Yellow Birch Tree, at my cottage in the Algonquin Highlands of Ontario.
American Alligator
Captured this fearsome American Alligator laying near the wetlands of the Tamiami Trail in the Florida Everglades.
Ringo the Raccoon
Meet Ringo, an orphaned baby raccoon that we are raising until he is old enough to eat on his own and can be united with others of his kind at a Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre. Wildlife Centre's in Ontario are over capacity and don't have the manpower or resources to keep up, so we are doing our part to help out. Image taken at my home in Port Perry.
A brightly colored Sally Lightfoot Crab dragging a captured Squid ashore, up a rock face, from the Pacific Coast. Image taken on Fenandina Island, Galapagos.
