Mallard Ducklings

While sitting on a dock up in the Algonquin Highlands a family of fearless Mallard Ducklings swam right up to me looking for food. Fortunately I had my camera with me and was able to capture these cute little duckies.

Relaxing at our lakeside cottage when this Common Merganser passed by me with her 7 chicks following close behind her. I quickly ran up to the cottage, grabbed my camera, hopped into my kayak and paddled out to take this image of her and her family.

Endemic to Espanola Island (Galapagos), I captured this fearless Hood Mockingbird singing a beautiful tune. The Hood Mockingbird is the only species of Galapagos mockingbird that Charles Darwin did not see or collect on the voyage of the Beagle.

Baby Goose

Was on my way home through the Kawartha Region and I stopped to photograph the local Osprey at the Trent Canal near Balsam Lake. From under the bridge came this lone baby Canada Goose. The mother was nowhere around so I rescued the little fellow and took him home and then to an animal rescue centre. We called him Gus Gus.
