Built in 1870, the famous cable-stayed suspension Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest roadway bridges in the United States. The Bridge was very first steel-wire suspension bridge, and was constructed to connect Manhattan to Brooklyn. Image taken from a ferry on the East River.
The Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland), also known as Il Vittoriano, is Rome's largest monument. Build bewteen 1885 and 1925 it was built in honor of Victor Emmanuel II, the first King of a unified Italy.
